Steve Metzger serves as President and Chief Operating Officer of Carriage Services, overseeing Operations, Sales, Marketing, and Corporate Development. He joined Carriage in 2018 and has held several senior roles across the organization, including General Counsel, Chief Administrative Officer, and President giving him a thorough understanding of the business from multiple vantage points.
Before Carriage, Steven served as General Counsel for a publicly traded restaurant company and spent seven years at Service Corporation International in legal and compliance leadership. He began his career as a litigator in Houston and holds a B.A. in Government and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin.
That foundation in law and operations informs how he leads today, with an eye toward sound decision-making, organizational alignment, and the steady execution that sustainable growth requires.
